Why we offer it

Time is the thing insurance will not pay for.

A standard visit is built around a fifteen-minute slot because that is what billing supports. It is enough for one problem. It is rarely enough for a person.

Membership funds the difference directly. It lets us hold a smaller number of appointments open each day, run visits long enough to actually finish the conversation, and answer a message the same afternoon instead of at the next opening three weeks out.

This is not a different standard of medicine. Every patient at Qualls Harbin gets the same clinical care and the same attention. Membership buys access and time, not better treatment.

Important

What membership is not.

01

It is not insurance

Under Tennessee law a direct agreement of this kind is not an insurance product and is not regulated as one. Keep your health plan. Membership does not cover hospital care, specialists, imaging, surgery or prescriptions.

02

It is not required

You do not need a membership to be a patient here. We continue to see and bill insurance patients exactly as we always have, and non-members are not moved down any list.

03

It does not replace your deductible

Services billed to your insurance are still billed to your insurance. The monthly fee covers access, extended time and the services listed on your plan — not your plan’s cost sharing.

Questions

Before you join.

Whether this qualifies depends on how the agreement is written and what kind of health plan you carry. Ask us and check with your tax adviser before you assume either way.

Yes. We remain in network and continue to bill your plan for covered services. The membership fee is separate and is never billed to insurance.

People living at the same address. The family plan covers up to five, typically two adults and up to three children, and every member enrolls at the same time. Additional members beyond five are $25 each per month.

A limited number. The whole point is protected time, and that only works if the number stays small. When we reach the cap we will keep a waiting list.

No. About Face aesthetic treatments are priced separately and discussed at consultation. Members may be offered preferred scheduling.

Give us 30 days’ notice and the membership ends. You stay a patient of the practice, you keep your records, and you can rejoin later if space allows.
